    My name is Brigitte Richard and I am the owner and artist behind The Potter's Cup. I specialize in custom wheel thrown pottery - particularly cups for any occasion.

    about the artist

    Raised in Nuernberg Germany, Brigitte graduated from the ceramics program at Berufsschule fur Keramik Landshutand followed by a three year apprenticeship at Topferei Ochsenreiter. She went on to complete her fine arts degree at the Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste Nuernberg. With more than 35 years of experience in ceramics, Brigitte now works as a studio artist focusing on functional ceramics in San Antonio, Texas. Working in both earthenware and stoneware, each piece is wheel thrown and intricately detailed utilizing embossing and hand sculpting techniques before being fired to cone 04. She then hand paints and inscribes each piece uniquely before finishing at either cone 6 or 06. Brigitte is most recognized for her use of colorful patterns and whimsical detailing.

    Join me at The King William Fair! This family friendly Fiesta event is set in the gorgeous historical neighborhood of King William and is known for it’s fun and funky parade that kicks off at 9am. Come for the parade, stay for the vendors!

    San Antonio Art & Clay Festival

    The San Antonio Potters Guild presents the spring show with more than 35 local artists presenting ceramics, fiber, paper, glass and much more! This is a free family friendly event featuring both glass art and ceramics demonstrations. Come visit me at The Potter’s Cup booth!

    Texas Clay Festival

    Oct 26-27, 2019

    The 27th annual Texas Clay Festival will be held in the beautiful historic district of downtown Gruene, just outside New Braunfels, TX. This is a free family friendly event with activities for kiddos and ceramics demonstrations for all. Come visit The Potter’s Cup booth!
